About Jane Metzger & Cristina Asensio Foley:
Jane Metzger’s love for plants began on her family’s farm in northern Michigan, foraging wild spearmint and elderberries. At 18, she discovered herbalism while working at an herb shop. She balanced herbal studies with a career in geosciences, earning a B.S. and M.S. in the field. After moving to Massachusetts, she started an herbal products business. In 2014, Jane joined the Herbal Academy and now serves as Director of Education, overseeing course development and helping others nurture their well-being.

Cristina is an herbalist, gardener, and educator, passionate about the connection between people and plants. She has taught ESL to students worldwide and traveled extensively through Latin America. She has lived and worked with indigenous communities in Guatemala, teaching health and organic gardening. Cristina apprenticed with Master Gardener Joe Hollis at Mountain Gardens, learning to cultivate native and Chinese herbs. A graduate of the Advanced Herbal Course, Cristina is now the Student Communities Manager at the Herbal Academy.
